Longing for Spring

Pulled up a shot from Provenance and thought I would play with Photo Shop. Most time this software has way too many tools to try to figure out. A good shot rarely needs more than some cropping, density and color adjustment. Occasionally, you can take a shot and actually ehnance it. Some might say the original was fine. But I like the darkened foreground, the added stone texture and 3 D outlining. Seems more of a story somehow.

Interesting effect with the darkened foreground and 3D outlining. I was playing with Photoshop today also. I photographed an eagle against a grey sky background. I tried the burn and dodge tools. The bird's tail and head were indistinct against the sky, but I used a small midtone dodge and they showed up as light as they were in life! The burn tool was used to draw out the color in the eagle's bill. Quite an interesting tool. Which effect is 3D in Photohshop? I'm not sure I've ever used it.

In version 6.0 Filter, Render, 3D. Seems for find foreground and somehow outline/layer. Wonderful thing about PS is the stepback feature. You can play and go back if you don't like the result.
