I must wonder if our creative use of technology is so shortsided in an effort to make a buck that we don't think through implications for the future.
Somehow past cultures in both the "Old World and New" managed to thrive for thousands of years; leaving behind mysteries that we are just now beginning to fathom.
And perhaps most amazing, how did Precolumbian native Americans learn how to turn practically barren tropical rainforest soil into hotbeds of horticulture?
